Mr. Della Rosa - is in his 3rd year at the Golden Door Charter school. He is a former computer programmer for the 3-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils Hockey team. Before coming to Golden Door he was a computer programming teacher at the High Tech High School and an adjunct professor at Hudson County Community College. He also has a bachelors degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Ms. Ciccone - is in her fifth year of teaching at the Golden Door.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, and a master’s degree from Fordham University in New York City.  Besides third grade, Ms. Ciccone has taught Spanish and sixth grade.  She is also a runner, and in addition to various races throughout the year, competed in the New York Marathon in November of 2005.

Ms. Harris- is in her second year teaching Basic Skills at Golden Door Charter School.  Prior to this, she has taught Pre-K, Resource Room, and Basic Skills in New Jersey and California.She has a BSW degree from NYU and a Master's Degree from St. Peter's College.

Ms. Madera - The 2005-2006 school year marks Tabitha Madera's sixth year at Golden Door Charter School.  She began teaching at the school in the fall of 2000 and was invited to join the administrative team in the fall of 2003 as Curriculum Supervisor for the K-4 elementary grade levels.  Mrs. Madera earned a B.A. from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in 2000 and a M.A. in Education from St. Peter's College in 2002.  She is certified in Elementary Education, Reading Specialist, and Supervision.  Her love of teaching began in her senior year of college while interning as a museum educator at the Children's Museum of Manhattan where she taught for a year to school groups of various ages and participated in the museum's outreach program for inner-city schools with limited Art funding.  Having grown up in Jersey City and its public schools Tabitha finds a personal satisfaction in helping to create an alternative place for parents to bring their children to learn that brightens both their young minds and big smiles. 

Ms. Espinal - is in her third year of teaching at the Golden Door.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey and will complete her master’s degree in May of 2006 from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey.  Besides teaching middle school social studies, Ms. Espinal enjoys recreating Bob Ross paintings and manipulating photographs on Photoshop and Illustrator.

Mr. Steidl - is in his 1st year of teaching at the Golden Door.  He is certified both in Health and Physical Education.  He received his degree from Lock Haven University, where he was a Division I wrestler.

Ms. Saito - was born and raised in Hawaii where she earned her Bachelors of Education degree.  She earned her Masters degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts.  She has played music professionally as well as taught Band, Business, and Introduction to World Languages in Hawaii.  She has also taught Band, Jazz Ensemble, General Music, Guitars, and Violins with the Chicago Public Schools.  She is looking forward to wonderful experiences here at the Golden Door Charter School and is impressed with the abundance of musical talent she sees in its students. 

Ms. Hansen- is in her first year at Golden Door as the speech-language pathologist. She holds a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and a master's degree from Florida State University. She taught for seven years in the state of Florida before relocating to New Jersey. Ms. Hansen is originally from Alabama.

Mr. Petruncio is in his second year of teaching Science at the Golden Door. He recieved his B.S. degree from King's College where he majored in Biology. He also has post graduate credit from East Stroudsburg University in the fields of Environmental Science and Physiology. Mr. P. taught a number of sciences including an Honors course of Anatomy and Physiology at North Warren Regional High school. He was at North Warren for eight years when he left to persue a career in Pharmaceutical Sales.After 15 years he decided to return to the profession that he truly enjoys. Ms. Hilario is thrilled to be in her second school year at Golden Door. Before venturing into the field of education, she worked for six years in book publishing at Simon & Schuster and at Farrar, Straus & Giroux. She grew up in Jersey City and holds a Bachelors degree from New York University.

Mrs. Huff is very proud to be a part of the Golden Door family. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelors degree in Physical Anthropology. She currently attends Touro College in NYC working on a Master's degree in Education and Special Ed. In 2002 she founded The Huff & Puff Sounds Conservatory of Fine Arts (COFA) and conducts mobile workshops geared toward bringing fine arts back to the community. Mrs. Huff enjoys working with the middle school students in all areas of academia as well as conducting fine arts performances for school assemblies. This year she directs the Golden Door Chorale who rehearses on Fridays from 3:30 to 4:30pm.
